Thane Fisher, Golf Instructor
Camarillo Springs is pleased to welcome Thane Fisher back into the fold after spending seven years as a PGA Tour Rep for Sonartec Golf, a maker of high-end custom fairway woods and wedges. Thane left Camarillo Springs to travel the world for Sonartec as Director of Tour Relations, and is now back and offering his expertise to the patrons at Camarillo Springs.
Prior to working for Sonartec and Cam Springs, Thane honed his skills with a variety of golf organizations including Zevo Golf, where he worked with AJ Bonar, Escondido Country Club, Wildcreek Golf Course, Nevada Bobs, and Lamesa Golf & Tennis.
Between 1995-99 Thane played on the Golden State Tour and the King Stahlman Tour. He earned his degree from San Diego State University, where he majored in Liberal Arts.
Thane's teaching style has developed over the years by combining the styles of several teachers. This includes AJ Bonar's philosophy of teaching the ball flight laws and how the club was meant to be used, along with Dave Sepulveda's easy-going, uncomplicated approach, which is similar to Harvey Penick's style. Thane believes in incorporating solid fundamentals, and after watching the best players in the world work on their fundamentals day after day, has developed a pragramatic approach that helps to keep players swinging with their creative right side of the brain, rather than their more analytical left brain.
